WSU Master Gardeners teach classes in Wenatchee, WA.
Spring, Summer, and Fall are great for gardening. Join our classes and events to learn more about timely topics such as:

  • Pop-up Classes
    • Vegetable Gardening for Beginners – April 23, 2024 – New to vegetable gardening or looking for a refresher?  Join us for a class where Extension Master Gardeners  guide you through successfully growing your own produce.  Meet at the raised bed vegetable boxes at the our Continuing Education Garden, 1100 Western Ave., Wenatchee, WA.   • Third Saturdays in the CEG Garden – Take free tours and short tutorials designed to help educate and motivate you to get outside and into the garden.  Our Diagnosis Clinic will be here too.  And our Master Gardener Foundation will offer gardening-related items for sale.     • March 16, 2024 – 1 – 3 pm – Need to Branch Out on Pruning?  Leaf it to Us – Watch a demonstration of simple sharpening using a carbine sharpening tool, then join a 1 hour  demonstration of how to prune different types of plants in garden.  And watch how to give roses their Spring pruning.  Do your small hand tools need a sharpening?  For a donation, we will sharpen them for work in your garden.
    • May 18, 2024 – 10 am – noon – Gardening is Dirty Work: Pesticides & Weeds. Pesticides play a crucial role controlling insects, weeds, and plant diseases that can harm our gardens and health, however it is essential to use them responsibly. Come learn from an expert. In this two-parter event, also learn to identify common weeds that find their way to our gardens, and how to manage them.
    • June 15, 2024 – 10 am – noon – Garden Education Faire: A free family event
      Join us for a delightful and educational morning at the Community Education Garden!
      Explore a variety of learning stations and engaging garden demonstrations throughout the garden. From tending to roses and mastering composting, to learning the art of vegetable gardening and understanding efficient irrigation systems, there’s something for everyone.
      And that’s not all! We’ve dedicated a whole area to youth activities, ensuring that kids of all ages can have fun while learning about the wonders of gardening.
      Come join us for a green-thumb adventure at the Community Education Garden!
    • July 20, 2024 – 10 am – noon – Growing a Healthy Lawn: Maintenance, problem-solving, and alternatives.
      Let’s delve into the world of lawn care, troubleshooting common issues, and discovering alternative approaches to achieving a lush and vibrant lawn. Whether you’re dealing with brown patches, weeds, or simply seeking eco-friendly options, we’ll explore ways to keep your outdoor space thriving.
    • August 17, 2024 –  10 am – noon – Annual Tomato Tasting Gala – Which tomatoes do you want to plant next year?  Taste tomatoes raised in our area to help you decide! And vote for your favorite heirloom,  slicer, cherry and paste tomato. You might see your favorite in our April Plant sale next year!
    • September 21, 2024 – 10 am – noon- Kids in the Garden. Fun for all budding botanists and their families!
    • October 5, 2024 – 1 – 3 pm – Fall Prep to Get Your Garden Ready for Next Spring –  On the first Saturday in October, learn proper mulching and soil conditioning and pruning that should take place in the fall.  Do your small hand tools need a sharpening?  For a donation, we will sharpen them for work in your garden.
