Resilient Families, Inside & Out (RFIO)

Parenting is not always easy.  While there is no one “right” way to parent, there are some basic, generally agreed-upon parental skills and practices known to help cultivate thriving, resilient children and families.  Resilient Families, Inside & Out (RFIO) provides both practical information and skill-building activities to help parents, other adults, and their families be their best.    RFIO offers parenting information and strategy sessions on Mindful Parenting (skill-full tools to cultivate optimal relationships with your kids);  Mindful Living (building self awareness and resilience to stress); Communication (using responsive language); Child/Human Development (an overview to reflect on your and your children’s optimal development); Setting Limits (Discipline through offering developmentally-appropriate choices).  Designed to build a person’s effectiveness as a responsive parent by building his or her understanding of oneself and others, RFIO combines parenting education with yoga and mindfulness practice. As a result, participants strengthen their understanding and abilities to skillfully respond to ever-changing important family member needs.
