Master Gardener Program:

We’re here to help! Master Gardeners are local volunteers and avid gardeners who undergo an intensive training program before helping other area gardeners. We’ve not only learned about gardening in Clallam County, but more importantly we’ve learned where to find current, safe solutions to local gardening problems.

Want a Soil Test?
The Clallam County Conservation District runs a low-cost soil testing program to help Clallam County residents make informed decisions about the management of soil nutrients. Soil tests should be taken in the spring or fall for established sites and at any time of year for new seedings and plantings.

Clallam County Growing Zones:
The 2012 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map is the standard by which gardeners and growers can determine which plants are most likely to thrive at a location. The map is based on the average annual minimum winter temperature, divided into 10-degree F zones. Click on the map below to view an interactive GIS-based map. Simply type in a ZIP Code and find the hardiness zone for the area of interest.
