Oyster mushrooms are one of the easiest to grow and will thrive on a variety of different substrates many of which you may already have. Straw, wood, newspaper and coffee grounds can and will support the growth of oyster mushrooms.

Instructor Tony McMigas states, “We are firm believers in sustainable and organic agriculture, so that means we don’t use any synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. At McMigas Family Farm, it’s ‘All Organic, All the Time.’ ”

Anyone wishing to start their own production can purchase starter kits for $25.00 each at the class. (Cash or check preferred.)
