Debbie is a full time Nutrition Educator and has been with Food $ense since 1996, when she joined the WSU Extension team to develop a nutrition education program for limited-resource families and children. She works with students in elementary schools, particularly second, fourth and 5th graders. In addition, Debbie works with adults providing education in the areas of healthy food choices, shopping and cooking skills and the value of physical activity. She also provides food safety and diabetes classes.
Debbie has a passion for helping people live full and healthy lives. She has 25+ years of experience working with adults and youth. She has had opportunities helping people develop life skills in the areas of parenting, nutrition, diabetes management and food safety. Debbie attended LCC and has had extensive continuing education in the fields of nutrition and diabetes. She is a Certified Nutrition Educator.
When not at work she spends time supporting her husband’s Extension work, enjoying needlework, jewelry making and spending as much time as possible with family. Debbie and her husband have 6 wonderful children and 3 amazing grandchildren.
