State Fair Meeting for Animal Entries

Tuesday, August 11th at 6:30 pm

Cowlitz County Training Center

located on the dike just south of the Hall of Justice

The purpose of this meeting is to fill out state fair entry forms, complete state fair member information form and code of conduct—which requires a parent signature, provide information about state fair, and also receive state fair passes. If the 4H member cannot make it…and the parent can..that is ok.

This is the only state fair meeting scheduled for animal exhibitors. If your members and/or parents cannot make this meeting—they will need to schedule a time to meet with me to complete the information the week of August 17th. Our office staff person, Jessica Bischoff, cannot assist you with this.

If you had 4H members enter items in the 4H Building and they received a blue ribbon and a “qualified for state fair” sticker on their county ribbon or name card…..that means that they may be eligible for entry in the 4H State Fair.

So that we can provide support for our 4H members to enter items—-we have two volunteers—Marjorie Willenburg and Barb Berg who are willing to collect entries and take them to state fair and also pick them up.

The still life “entry collection” dates will be:

August 26th & 27th
From 5:30 pm  –  8:00 pm
Catlin Grange on Shawnee Rd, Kelso

Barb Berg will then take the exhibits to the State Fair for you.

State Fair entry tags and entry forms are available at the Extension office and also will be available the days of “entry collection”. If these dates don’t work for you or your 4H members—then they can also take their own entries to the 4H State Fair at per the published entry times in the State Fair premium book listed above.
