GRASSHOPPER WORKSHOP BY USDA, APHIS, & WSU FERRY COUNTY ON JUNE 15, 2015 from 1-3pm @ FERRY COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. The event flyer is available to share with others in PDF <click here>. Major outbreaks only occur when conditions are ideal for their growth and development, usually only once every 7 to 10 years. Populations build up slowly so it is fairly easy to predict bad grasshopper years. Outbreaks are worst when spring weather is warm and dry, and predators, parasites and diseases of grasshoppers are at low levels – click here to read the entire article and download our free brochure on grasshoppers.
