Master Gardener Training Applications Due ~ Port Townsend

February 1, 2017

Each year, WSU Jefferson County trains new Master Gardeners to be effective community educators in gardening and environmental stewardship. We are continuing our rich tradition, welcoming new members every year.

The WSU Extension Master Gardener Program is open to everyone with an interest in gardening and a willingness to use their knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to make a positive impact on their local community.

As a trainee, you will be using an online course provided by WSU, which you do mostly on your own time. We will supplement this training with classroom lectures, hands-on learning, educational field trips, and group activities. There will be a balance between self-study/computer time and classroom time.

Fast computer web access is necessary for compatibility.

Supplemental training starts February 23rd, 2017 at the Tri-Area Community Center in Chimacum and continues for twelve Thursdays, from 9 am – 3 pm.

The cost for this course is $265, of which $75 goes directly to WSU for the online training course.

Please download application HERE or email wsujeffcomg@gmail.com to request an application.  Applications are due in January and payment is due February 1, 2017.   Mail applications back to: Master Gardener Coordinator, WSU Extension, 380 Jefferson St., Port Townsend, WA 98368.

If you are looking for a way to expand your gardening knowledge, serve your community, and continue your personal growth, we hope you will consider supporting this premier program of Washington State University (WSU) through your participation.
