Noxious Weed Pull Party ~ Indian Island Co. Park
November 18, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Noxious Weed Pull @ Indian Island County Park
DATE CHANGE: Saturday, November 18th, 10am-noon
Details: Indian Island County Park needs our help! English holly and Himalayan blackberry are encroaching on native plants and we’re asking you to help us uncover these natives to give them a foothold against the weeds. We’ll provide tools, gloves, and a light snack.
This is a beautiful park with a wide variety of species including Madrone, Western Red Cedar, Grand Fir, Beaked hazelnut, Serviceberry, Oregon Grape, Sword Fern, and a very healthy Salal population. This is also a great spot for watching birds and perhaps catching a glimpse of some local wildlife.
Directions: Take Hwy 116 to Indian Island. The parking lot for Indian Island park is the first turnoff after the bridge onto Indian Island, directly across from the entrance to Indian Island Naval Base. Look for our sandwich board sign.
