Small, Merit-based Grants Application 

The Jefferson County 4-H Council annually awards grants ($50-$200) to 4-H youth members, 4-H Projects, and 4-H Clubs/Groups who help to PROMOTE and/or RAISE FUNDS for 4-H programs and scholarships that benefit youth throughout our county (i.e., promotion and fundraising that extends beyond o single 4-H Club/Group). Those applying for such grants must report their activities on the Jefferson County 4-H Council Promotion/Fundraising Log. All grant proposals must help to further the “Essential Elements” of 4-H.  individual 4-H members, 4-H Projects, and entire 4-H Clubs/Groups in Jefferson County are encouraged to apply.  For more information and to apply, please click on the fillable form above.

Scholarships for Graduating Seniors

Annually, the Jefferson County 4-H Council (JC 4-H Council) awards scholarships to Applicants exhibiting outstanding participation in Jefferson County 4-H.

The JC 4-H Council Scholarship Shall Be:
  • Awarded annually to each qualifying Applicant in an amount not to exceed $500 per Applicant.
  • Awarded only one time to any individual Applicant.
  • Used at the accredited college or vocational/technical school of the Applicant’s choice.
Applicant Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of 4-H membership.
  • Membership in Jefferson County 4-H during junior and senior years of high school.
  • Enrolled in 4hOnline for current year, 2021 – 2022.
  • Successful completion of an interview with JC 4-H Council after submission of Application Packet.
Applicant Packet:

Applicants shall complete, assemble, and submit the following:

  1. A completed JC 4-H Council Scholarship Application Form
  2. Three (3) letters of recommendation from community leaders who are not family members (e.g., High School Principal or Counselor, Teacher, Homeschool Tutor, 4-H Leader, Employer/Supervisor, Minister, Coach, Elected Official, Non-Profit Leader, etc.). Each letter shall include: (1) nature of relationship to Applicant, (2) length of relationship with Applicant, and (3) a description of Applicant’s greatest strengths.
  3. A short essay (250-400 words) describing how 4-H has helped you to become:
    1. Connected with, and inclusive of, others
    2. Empowered to make positive changes in the world
    3. Confident to meet challenges and solve problems
    4. Generous towards individuals and community

Small, Travel & Training Grants

Small, Travel & Training Grant Application Forms due on the 15th of each month

The Jefferson County 4-H Council annually awards grants (up to $50) to 4-H youth and leaders who would like to gain greater understanding within their specific 4-H Projects and/or various aspects of positive youth development.  These grants may be used for helping to cover the costs of trainings, travel, curricula, teen rallies, camps, or other 4-H-related educational experiences.  4-H youth and leaders who have helped to promote and/or raise funds for 4-H programs that benefit youth throughout our county (i.e., through the Jefferson County 4-H Council) are eligible to apply.
