Learn more about the program that’s helping grow farms and farmers throughout the Northwest

Interested in farming? Not sure how to begin? Do you dream of beginning or expanding your own small farm? The Cultivating Success™ program combines workshop and on-farm learning experiences to help foster the success of new and existing farms and agri-ventures.

Learn more about Cultivating Success during a free Farm Walk and Talk, Monday, August 29, 2016  6:00pm-8:00pm at the Carnation Farm’s Organic Garden, 28901 NE Carnation Farm Rd, Carnation. Stroll the certified organic gardens, talk with the farmers, nosh on delicious, locally grown and prepared  appetizers, and hear more about the program.

Coming to King County this fall, Cultivating Success courses help participants explore the unique advantages available to the small and mid-size farm. Weekly presentations include local growers, organizations, and university specialists with expertise in direct marketing, value-added processing, production planning, agronomy, livestock production, and more.

Sponsored by WSU King County Extension, King Conservation District, SnoValley Tilth, and King County, Cultivating Success provides students with the tools necessary to create/develop/expand a sustainable farm operation. The twelve-week course will take place at Carnation Farm’s Alpine Room starting September 19, 2016.
