Julie Evenson, Program Coordinator: Julie started off as a part-time Food $ense Nutrition Educator in 2007. In 2012 she transitioned into the Food $ense Program Coordinator role for Kitsap and Clallam Counties. This program works with students and families, providing them with practical, hands-on activities and resources that focus on how to shop, prepare, store and serve nutritious meals with limited resources. Classes and activities are held in schools, food banks, community centers and the CSO office. The thing she loves most about her job is working with various community partners in providing nutrition education and improving access to healthy food for Kitsap and Clallam residences. When Julie is not at work she enjoys being active, coaching, leading Young Life and spending time with her husband and two children.
Dawn-Marie Duarte, Nutrition Educator: Dawn-Marie is a part-time Kitsap County Nutrition Educator and has been with Food $ense since 2013. She currently provides Whole School Approach Nutrition Education at West Hills Stem Academy, Armin Jahr and Crownhill Elementary Schools. The thing she loves most about her job is sharing an excitement for nutritious choices and physical activity. When Dawn-Marie is not at work she enjoys horseback riding, competing in triathlons and spending time with her husband and four children.
