4-H Youth Horse Camp
July 11, 2016 - July 13, 2016
The 2016 Klickitat County 4-H Youth Horse Camp is coming! It is open to all youth (with their horse) who are in grades 3 through 12 (school year just completed).
The purpose of the Horse Camp is to prepare youth for showing in their county and state 4-H fairs or just improve their horsemanship skills. Riders will have showmanship and three riding classes each day for $150. Registrations postmarked by June 21 will also receive a 2016 4-H Horse-O-Polis T-shirt. Check-in is Sunday evening, July 10, from 5pm to 7pm; dinner will be served at 6pm.
Shavings are NOT included – you must provide your own.
PLEASE NOTE—The hours of 4-H supervision will be 6am to 8pm each day–all riders must have a designated on-site responsible adult overseeing them during the day and especially at night. Registration forms are below. If you have questions, contact Martha Parsons at 509-365-4267 or 509-637-4016, or Pat Shamek at 541-993-9560.
Partial scholarships for Klickitat County 4-H members may be available by request from Klickitat County 4-H Leaders’ Council. All written request must be received no later than June 21, 2016 to be reviewed for consideration. Contact the Extension office at 509-773-5817 for specific information. 4-H Record Book Scholarships (from October 2015 4-H Achievement Day) may also be used towards the cost of registration.
