WSU Lewis County Extension is committed to improving the health and wellness of Lewis County residents through the SNAP-Ed program. SNAP-Ed is a collaborative effort of the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), USDA- Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service (CSREES), Washington State University, Lewis County and local partners throughout the community.

The goal of SNAP Ed is to provide nutrition education experiences that increase the likelihood that people eligible for SNAP will make healthy food choices within a limited budget and choose physically active lifestyles consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and Food Guidance System (ChooseMyPlate.gov).

SNAP-Ed teaches youth and adult audiences to develop skills and behaviors to eat healthfully. Families learn nutrition basics and smart buying strategies to help them make healthy choices and sustain their food supply throughout the month.
