Wow, What a Month!

November has already seen two fantastic events for Pend Oreille 4-H.  First let’s talk Rally!

Oh, what a Rally.   49 youth and more than 15 adults made for an “epic” Regional Rally.   Thank you to our teens and parents who helped with the planning and delivery of a truly spectacular Rally.   It was complete with 6 inches of snow to highlight the beautiful landscape of Pend Oreille County.   Thanks to our partners, the Kalispel Tribe and the Camas Center for allowing us to fully utilize their great facility.  Also, thanks to Alex Laughery and of course Jessica Laughery for their help in front of and behind the scenes.   The Rally was both fun and educational.   It was great to see so many of our Pend Oreille County 4-H Teens rise to the leadership of programming, presenting and participating.   We also want to thank the great teens and adult volunteers who helped to feed the Rally participants. Thank you for your commitment of an entire weekend of positive youth development and great food!

Also, congratulations to our newest 4-H State Ambassador, Willow Vaughn.   Yea Willow!

Grizzly Discover Center STEaM Night.   STEaM Night was very exciting and educational with more than 100 participants from Pend Oreille County (POC) and Priest River. The POC Extension Office had two tables, OZOBOTS and Drones.   Both were well attended and provided fun activities.  Alex tested the sharpness of the drone blades.  Ouch!  Please keep in mind that you do not want your skin to come into contact with the fast moving blades of any drone, let alone the big ones.
