First Aid Training – April 11

Mike Jensen will be teaching First Aid and CPR on Wednesday, April 11 from 9:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Extension Office in Newport. The cost is $45.00 per person and includes all materials, certification card and lunch. 4-H Leader Council

The next Leader Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 19, at the Extension Office, 227 S Garden Ave., Newport.

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus serotype 2 (RHDV2)

Taking animals to the fair (or other gatherings) is always a risk for contacting disease.  The best protection for rabbits is for the owners to practice good biosecurity or request a veterinarian to import a RHDV2 vaccine and vaccinate rabbits at risk.  Please see additional information regarding RHDV2:  RHDV-2     General Biosecurity Recommendations for Rabbits


4-H Leader Council Treasurer, Vickie Blanchet, presents Country Pride members, Lindsey and Myah McElfish, their club’s premium points check. Country Pride earned their check by youth and adults attending the County Leader Council meetings, usually every third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m., at the WSU Extension Office.  Congratulations!


Leader Council Awards Club Premium Points & Checks

Adults and youth alike, earned premium points for attending Leader Council meetings during the 2017-2018 4-H year and, for those clubs attending the Leader Council meeting in March it was “Pay Day”! The following amounts were awarded by the Leader Council.

If you have not received the premium points check for your club, please contact Vickie Blanchet at blanchetvickie@newportgriz.com If your club does not have a checking account, simply save your expense receipts and Vickie will reimburse you up to the amount your club earned.
