People’s Place Adult Nutrition Education

Washington State University Pend Oreille County Extension SNAP-Ed Program, in partnership with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians and the Federally Recognized Tribal Extension Program, offers Adult Nutrition Education classes at the Kalispel People’s Place on the Kalispel Tribe of Indians Reservation in Usk. Recently, the class started an eight week series of classes that teaches how to shop smart, save money, read store labels, and stay physically active all while living healthy, happy lives.

Classes are still in session twice a month on Monday and focus on overall health and wellness and teaching how to cook healthy low cost meals for your whole family. This summer, bring your family out to the People’s Place garden where we will be gardening with Tribal Extension Project Director Carol Mack, then using this produce to make fresh healthy meals!

Newport Adult Nutrition Education Classes

Starting in June, the WSU SNAP-Ed Program will be offering a series of classes taking place at the Washington State University Extension Office in Newport. These classes will help participants learn how to live and eat healthy on limited income through hands on cooking and getting to taste delicious healthy recipes! There will be 12 classes offered during the summer. Join us for this great opportunity for you and your family!
