Know & Grow: Support Your Plants (Wire Cage Building) – Free
March 19, 1 PM at the NWREC Sakuma Auditorium (16650 State Route 536; Mount Vernon)
Learn how you can make attractive wire cages to protect your plants from garden pests (rabbits and deer) and provide support as they grow. The presentation will include a discussion of materials, tools and how to create different wire cages. Other DIY examples of protecting and supporting plants will also be shared. Presented by Sandra Swarbrick.

March 22 – 24 at the Skagit County Fairgrounds
Visit our booth, see our displays, and talk with master gardeners about how to make your garden more beautiful and productive. Learn about free events and programs for home gardeners in Skagit County.

Food Innovation – Food Waste Prevention – Free
April 6, 9 AM to 12PM at the Port of Skagit
Celebrate Food Waste Prevention Week. Check out the worm composting bin, attend food waste prevention classes. Talk to the Skagit Gleaners. The WSU Breadlab sale starts at 10 AM. Event held at the Extension Office on 11768 Westar Lane, Burlington.

Skagit County Master Gardener Plant FairFree Admission
May 11, 8 AM to 2 PM at the Skagit County Fairgrounds
Don’t miss the annual Plant Fair on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. You will find 1,000’s of perennials and vegetable starts, and more than 3,000 tomatoes. There will be many vendors selling interesting plants and products too. Master Gardeners will be presenting short gardening demonstrations and hosting a Plant Clinic.

Discover the Display Gardens Open House – Free
June 29, 10 AM to 2 PM at the Discovery Garden in Mount Vernon
Three Gardens – One Location! Explore 8 acres of gardens and talk to the volunteers who maintain them. Master Gardeners will be available to answer your plant and landscaping questions. Bring your plant problems to our Plant Clinic. There will be educational exhibits, children’s activities, tool sharpening, and more.
