Kari DeTore and Zsofia Pasztor have written a new book about designing rain gardens in the PNW. Rainy weather is a given in Skagit County, but how to deal with excess rainwater can be tricky. Zsofia has designed and installed some of the most innovative and successful rain gardens in the PNW. Their book will be available to purchase.

It’s happening and how might it affect us in the future? Master Gardener Deborah Smeltzer will share some of the things she learned during a recent trip about what Iceland is doing to prepare (educational travelogue!) and WSU scientist Dr. Tim Miller will talk about how climate change might affect crops and weeds. Puget Sound Energy will follow with a short presentation about using energy efficiently in your home.
