4-H Clover Report

Dear 4-H Members,

Dates to know!

  • October 28th – MANDATORY 4-H Financial Policy Training for Club Leaders at the Hegewald Center from 9:00am – 10:30am
  • November 1st – Online training for KYG County Coordinators.  Anyone interested in taking a group of teens to Olympia for the Know Your Government conference needs to attend this online training.  Contact Abby for information!
  • November 9th – Office Closed in Observation of Veterans Day
  • November 18th – Women in Ag Conference (open to women, men, and teens 16+ in agriculture). Learn from the two featured speakers about “Who Will Lead Next” and “Making your Mark on your Farm and in your Community”.  A discounted rate of $20 is offered to 4-H Members!
  • November 18th – Community Service Event join the Noxious Weed Department from 10 am – 3pm as we enhance the planting of the Pollinator Garden.  Dress for all weather and bring water. Snacks will be provided!
  • November 22nd-23rd – Office Closed in Observation of Thanksgiving Day & Native American Heritage Day
  • December 2nd – MANDATORY 4-H Financial Policy Training for Club Leaders alternative date.  Meeting at the Clark County WSU Extension Office from 9:00am – 10:30am.
  • December 3rd – Mandatory Livestock Meeting & Potluck at the Hegewald Center from 2 – 6 pm.
  • January 8th – 4-H Council Meeting 6:30pm All Members/Leaders are invited to attend.  Seeking nominations for the President and Secretary Positions.

  • Report your volunteer hours here: http://ext.wsu.edu/Volunteers/logon.aspx.  Your username is your email and your password is “password!” without the quotation marks.
  • International Travel with 4-H Exchange!  Travel to Korea, Costa Rica, Norway, and Japan in the summer of 2018.  4-H Teens (15-18) can participate, adult chaperones are needed too.  Contact Dianna Ullery (dianna.ullery@wsu.edu) for either a delegate or chaperone application.  Completed applications are due Dec. 1st.
  • 4-H Science Matters Curriculum on MAJOR markdown.  Interested in food science, gardening, or agriculture? How about all three? Thanks to a generous donation by Bayer, obtain almost $100 worth of curriculum for only $7.99! This bundle includes a total of 12 books.

We have Project Guides in our office! The Washington State 4-H Office just released an updated project and publications guide.  Pick one up from our office or ask for a copy to be shared with you soon.  This has a full list of resources for each individual project area offered in Washington.  Looking for ideas?  This is a must have!
