Northwest Activity Summary
Cool and moist over the last 24 hours. Widespread precipitation in Western Washington, Northwest Oregon, and the Blue Mountains. Light scattered precipitation in Central Washington, Central and Southern Oregon. No lightning recorded. Light initial attack. Transfer of command to the local unit on the Rail fire tomorrow. National Preparedness Level 2 as of 1200 yesterday.

Rail OR-WWF-000582. IMT2. NW Team 13 (Gales). 5 miles W of Unity, OR. Start 7/31. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 41,706 acres (+0). 90% containment. Timber. Minimal fire behavior. Continued burning of interior fuels. Mop-up and suppression repair ongoing. Road, trail and area closures. Transfer of command from IMT2 NW Team 13 (Gales) back to the local units planned for 9/8.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Significant fire potential will remain inhibited throughout most of the region today; however, drying and warming will begin to set in through the rest of the week. North central portions of the region will continue to be impacted by brief disturbances with gusty winds and some moisture potential. Fire potential will start to elevate in Southern Oregon as warm, dry, and locally windy conditions begin to build with offshore flow into the weekend.
