Sowing Seeds, March 30
We are excited to bring back this one-day gardening workshop. The workshop will be held at the Spokane Community College, Colville Branch. There are 4 sessions, each with 4 class offerings, for a total of 16 class options. Classes include waterwise gardening, preservation topics, native pollinators, gardening on a dime, hops, wine grapes, composting, backyard poultry, soil testing and Firewise landscaping. This year on-line registration is being offered. Sign up early to get the discounted price of $20 and ensure you get the classes you want. Opioid Response Conference, Pathways to Prevention March 15 9-Noon
The Opioid Response Conference is a free conference that takes place at the same time, over multiple sites across the region. Boards in Gear, April 5 8:30am- 12:30pm
This workshop is designed for board members and the people who work with them, namely executive directors and program staff. It offers ideas for new board members and those who have served for a long time. It is appropriate for organizations of all sizes, whether they have staff or not. Not too late to join 4-H
Have you seen this story? 4-H does make a difference 4-H’ERS FOUND SAFE AFTER 2 DAYS IN CALIFORNIA WOODS In local news we just held our annual Sensational Saturday program. Youth chose 5 classes from 25 offered. One was on flowers and foraging where participants had a chance to learn plant id in the woods and determine what is safe to eat. Up next in our 4-H year are public presentation contests giving youth practice on another important life skill—public speaking. Loggers Workshop, March 29
Loggers play a vital role in the health and well-being of forests and timber communities and require special knowledge and skills to provide and protect wood, wildlife, water, and recreational opportunities. The annual Loggers Workshop provides an educational opportunity to interact with other forestry professionals and industry leaders to discuss topics of emerging significance, so that forests continue to be a source of goods and benefits to the owner and to society.
Date: March 29, 2019 Time: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: Northeast Washington Fairgrounds Agriculture & Trade Center

Cost: $20 per person (includes 1 lunch).
