Western Regional AM/PIC 2015, Anchorage Alaska

The Western Regional AM/PIC in Anchorage Alaska September 23-24,  was terrific and a very educational experience.  States represented at the meeting included Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Hawaii, Colorado, Florida, Utah, Virginia and Washington.   The first day featured presentations on a variety of interesting topics.  We even had a colleague from Florida presenting on an interesting way to engage retired citizens in horticulture programs. Day 2 featured a tour of the Matanuska Glacier, Matanuska Experiment Station, Reindeer & Elk Farm and Musk Ox Farm.  I got several great pictures of colleagues feeding the reindeer or should I say being mugged by the baby reindeer!  Needless to say, the reindeer were friendly and used to being fed by people.  Special thanks to Stephen Brown, our meeting host, tour guide and Western Region Vice-Director, who shared many entertaining stories and experiences along the way!
