DESCRIPTION:4-H of the Upper Nisqually is hosting the Washington State 4-H National Qualifying Event in Eatonville\, WA May 15-17\, 2026 for Intermediates and Seniors. Registration is through Fair Entry at https://fairentry.com/Fair/SignIn/23286 and you must use your 4-H Online profile to sign in. The general synopsis and guidelines are all linked on the home page. Registration for smallbore rifle\, air rifle\, smallbore pistol\, air pistol\, muzzleloading\, compound and recurve archery is $100. Shotgun is #125. Dry camping is available on site for $40 per family for the weekend. The information for ordering event clothing I also listed on the home page. \n\n\n\nSince we are hosting the qualifier May 2026 for the Seniors to go to the National Championships in June 2027\, we have made an allowance for youth that will be 14 years old by January 1\, 2027. This allowance is for those youth that have parent permission can shoot with the seniors for a chance to qualify to go to Nationals in June 2027. DESCRIPTION:Open to all Washington State 4-H members. Help your State 4-H Fair Board while expressing your own creativity! \n\n\n\nGuidelines for Entering\n\n\n\n\nYou must use an official entry form\n\n\n\nThe design must be in color.\n\n\n\nPatch design must contain the words “Washington State 4-H Fair” or “WA State 4-H Fair.”\n\n\n\nDo not include the year on your patch. It will be added to the winning design when printing.\n\n\n\nDesign must include the 4-H clover.\n\n\n\nAll entries must be received by May 15th.\n\n\n\n\nThe winning patch design will be selected by members of the Washington State 4-H Fair Board\, the 4-H State Fair Manager\, and a representative from the company that manufactures our patches. \n\n\n\nThe creator of the winning patch design will receive a patch and a cash award. \n\n\n\nGeneral Rules\n\n\n\n\nThere is a limit of two entries per 4-H member\n\n\n\nEntrant must be a currently enrolled member\, ages 8-18\n\n\n\nCloverbud and Junior members may accept help from leaders\, parents\, or other club members\, however\, the “design concept” should be that of the member.\n\n\n\nDesign must be your original creation and not contain graphics without copyright approval.\n\n\n\n\nApplication Form\n\n\n\nThe questions required on the Application Form are: \n\n\n\n\nName\n\n\n\nFull Mailing Address\n\n\n\nPhone\n\n\n\nAge\n\n\n\nGrade\n\n\n\nYears in 4-H\n\n\n\n\nUse the state outline for your design. We look forward to seeing the diversity of breeds your members have been raising. \n\n\n\nEvent Highlights & Educational Opportunities: \n\n\n\n\nPremium Points: All participants will receive premium points for their entries. SUMMARY:Lincoln County Spring Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 4th annual Lincoln County Spring Showcase (LCSS). This event is managed and conducted by the Washington State University Lincoln County Extension\, 4-H staff and volunteers. Our main purpose is provide an opportunity for all youth to gain a valuable learn by doing experience and better prepare for upcoming regional jackpot shows\, county fairs or future market livestock shows. \n\n\n\nFor many years Lincoln County conducted a pre-show for 4-H and FFA members who planned on exhibiting their livestock at the Spokane Junior Livestock Show held in May. This early spring show will focus on providing kids with a fun\, educational\, competitive and positive experience as it relates to showing livestock. \n\n\n\nWe also promise to provide enthusiastic and competent judges that can evaluate and sort livestock all while using a genuine and personal approach. \n\n\n\nOnline registration closes April 10th. Cost is $20.00 per animal registered.

SUMMARY:Washington Swine Information Day
DESCRIPTION:Washington Swine Information Day offers targeted presentations designed to address the diverse needs of Pacific Northwest swine producers. \n\n\n\nThe morning session includes certification training for the National Pork Board’s Pork Quality Assurance Plus (PQA+) for adults and Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) for youth. These certifications are increasingly required by pork packers and fairs. The session concludes withKatlyn Cain from the National Pork Board discussing best practices for receiving feeder pigs to ensure health and growth during transport andtransition.  \n\n\n\nDuring the pork luncheon\, Dr. Gordon Murdoch\, Chair of WSU Animal Science\, and the WSU Student Swine Cooperative will provide rapid updates from WSU Animal Sciences.  \n\n\n\nThe afternoon session begins with Dr. Shannon Neibergs\, WSU Extension Livestock Economist\, addressing hog prices\, grain trends\, and farm economics for 2026. Katlyn Cain will then highlight the critical role of people and pigs in the future of the U.S. swine industry. Dr. Paul Kuber\, WSU Regional Extension Specialist\, will present on identifying market-ready pigs for various industry segments.  \n\n\n\nThe day concludes with Dr. Zach Turner and Mr. David Hecimovich sharing WSDA updates on swine health and animal traceability to meet state and federal requirements. \n\n\n\nRegistration for the day’s event is $25 per person and includes seminar\, handouts\, lunch and break refreshments. An all-day youth registration\, $15\, is also available to 4-H and FFA members.  Individuals may also attend just the afternoon session for $10.  There is a $15 per person late charge for registrations postmarked after January 30\, 2026.  Please pre-register so we can ensure adequate accommodation and meals.  A complete seminar agenda and registration brochure is available online or by contacting Sarah M.
