{"id":22193,"date":"2025-09-03T15:54:30","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T22:54:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/4h\/?page_id=22193"},"modified":"2025-09-09T14:11:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T21:11:06","slug":"harry-burcalow","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/4h\/sge\/grants\/harry-burcalow\/","title":{"rendered":"Harry Burcalow Endowment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Harry Burcalow 4-H Endowment for Innovative Grant Application<\/h1>\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-row  wsu-color-background--gray-5 wsu-row--sidebar-right\" >\r\n    \n<div class=\"wsu-column\"  style=\"\">\r\n\t\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grant Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" wsu-max-width--hero\">The goal of this granting opportunity is to fund worthy 4-H youth development programs or projects.&nbsp;The emphasis will be on short-term needs such as new innovative programs, seed money, emergency or unanticipated shortfalls.&nbsp;&nbsp;Suggestions for such programs could be focused on (but not limited to): education of youth and adults, expanding 4-H experiential learning to youth and adults, and promoting youth excellence and opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Programs aimed at 4-H youth and\/or adults who work with 4-H youth are eligible. HOWEVER, we do not encourage the purchase of equipment, meals, trees, flowers, shrubs, and hardware-type items without strong support that these are an essential part of the proposed program or are style=\"\">\r\n\t\n\n<ul>\n<li>Efforts focused on developing youth competencies and meeting the essential needs of youth. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Efforts focusing on the 8 Life Skills selected by the 4-H Faculty\/staff.\n<ul>\n<li>Wise Use of Resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Decision-Making Skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accepting Differences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leadership<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marketable Skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Self-Responsibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Healthy Lifestyle Choices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-column\"  style=\"\">\r\n\t\n\n<ul>\n<li>Efforts based on adults and youth working together (family, community, caring
