You should understand this as well as the functions and policies of the organization and conduct meetings accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Meetings just don\u2019t happen. Set a good example through language and actions, and set the same standards for youth. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Listen and validate the thinking of youth members and let them know their ideas are welcome. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be willing to try the youth members&#8217; ideas even if those ideas did not work in your previous experience. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluate programs and be willing to change and adapt where necessary. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n<\/div><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading  wsu-heading--style-marked wsu-heading--mark-color-vineyard\" id=\"parlimentary-procedure\">General Rules of Parliamentary Procedure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" wsu-max-width--hero\">Parliamentary Procedure Made Easier (see references section) has detailed information regarding motions and the details of how parliamentary procedure works. Below is a very simplified guide to using parliamentary procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Always rise to make a motion or to address a group<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When making a motion, one should say, \u201cI move that\u2026\u201d NOT \u201cI make a motion.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A motion must be approved by a second person saying, \u201cI second that motion.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The floor refers to the area in which business is being conducted (the meeting room).
