2020 Chelan/Douglas Virtual Showcase!

4-H Members,

The 4-H Office and the Chelan and Douglas Leaders’ Councils are excited to announce that we will be hosting a 2020 Virtual Showcase for our counties!

It has been a crazy year for 4-H, and despite not being able to meet in person, we hope your summer has been full of adventure and “learning by doing”. We know many of you have continued to work on your 4-H projects, especially now that you have more time at home! Sharing your projects and what you have been working on all year is an important part of the 4-H experience. With no county fairs this year, the Chelan and Douglas County Leaders’ Councils have come together to host a showcase for you to still present your projects!  We will be doing the showcase on the Chelan/Douglas Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/chelandouglas4h/.

Here are the details of the showcase:

1. All 4-H members will be allowed to have up to two entries per project area they are enrolled in this year.  This can be submitted as a picture or two of the project or a short video.  Some examples could be: a video of the 4-H member going through the fitting and showing requirements for rabbits; a photo of their choice for their photography project; two pictures of their sewing project (front and back or front and special detailing), two pictures of their cake (whole and cut in a slice), Trail class for goats or horse.  You may utilize last year’s fair exhibitor guides for different exhibit entry ideas.  If you need help or ideas, please contact Michelle Lain at michelle.lain@wsu.edu.  Attached is a guide on how to take pictures of different types of projects.
2. Submit:

1. 1. Member’s Name (First name required, last name optional)
   2. Age group (ages are of October 1^st 2019) Cloverbuds (ages 5-7), Juniors (ages 8-10), Intermediates (ages 11-13), Seniors (ages 14-18)
   3. Club Name
   4. A short statement about what you have learned in your project this year.  Please no more than 1 paragraph.

1. You can submit entries directly to the Chelan/Douglas 4-H Facebook page.  There is a pinned post just for the showcase entries.  If you do not have Facebook, or cannot get it submitted on Facebook, please submit entry information to the 4-H office at michelle.lain@wsu.edu.  Please contact Michelle if you need assistance.
2. Entry deadline is September 1^st.  Please have all entries submitted by the deadline.  Entries submitted late may not be judged.

Once the entries are submitted, they will be judged, and 4-H members will receive feedback and a ribbon in the mail after judging is completed (there will be no class placings).  If you have any questions along the way, please contact Michelle Lain at michelle.lain@wsu.edu.  Please do not call the 4-H office, the office is closed at this time.
