{"id":13566,"date":"2025-05-12T16:46:37","date_gmt":"2025-05-12T23:46:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/chelan-douglas\/?page_id=13566"},"modified":"2026-02-18T09:59:00","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T17:59:00","slug":"how-to-join-4-h","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/chelan-douglas\/youthdevelopment\/join-4-h\/how-to-join-4-h\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Join 4-H"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wsu-row wsu-row--sidebar-right\" >\r\n    \n<div class=\"wsu-column\"  style=\"\">\r\n\t\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Can Join 4-H?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>4-H is open to all youth ages 5-18, as of October 1 of the current 4-H enrollment year.&nbsp; The 4-H year runs October 1 to September 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are four age groups in 4-H:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Cloverbud: ages 5-7<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Junior: ages 8-10<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intermediate: ages 11-13<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Senior: ages 14 to 19<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Youth must be at least 5 years old by October 1 in order to enroll in the current 4-H enrollment year. Youth also choose a 4-H club in which to explore their project. Follow these steps to get involved in a 4-H Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Choose a Project\n<ul>\n<li>What are you interested in? 4-H offers many opportunities to learn more!
