Marianne will share growing tips like how to protect plants during a heat wave and how to use those that are more drought resistant. She\u2019ll delve into how to use the proper tools for the job and appropriate body mechanics to avoid injury while gardening. Marianne will also have some fun ideas to add whimsy and joy to your outdoor space.<\/p>\n

Marianne has a degree in Horticulture from Washington State University, has written or co-written ten garden books, writes a syndicated weekly garden column that runs in several newspapers including the Daily Olympian and Tacoma News Tribune and has appeared on HGTV and as a radio and television host. This February she will return to the Northwest Flower and Garden Show in Seattle as emcee for the popular “Container Wars” competition every day of the show. The Green Thumb Education Series, sponsored by the W<\/span>ashington\u00a0<\/span>S<\/span>tate\u00a0<\/span>U<\/span>niversity<\/span>\u00a0Clallam County Master Gardeners, is held on the second and fourth Thursday\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>each month through October.
