Dogs must be safely handled by the 4-H member. 4-H leaders reserve the right to disqualify any dog that is observed to be unfit for 4-H participation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dogs must be vaccinated against distemper, hepatitisadenovirus, parainfluenza, parvo, leptospirosis, and Bordetella viruses at least fourteen days prior to Fair. Must show receipt or saved the label at vet check. Digital versions of certification may be provided by exhibitor if available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wpcdn.web.wsu.edu\/wp-extension\/uploads\/sites\/2069\/2018\/01\/Rabies-Vaccination-Certificate-cat-dog.pdf\">Printable Rabies Vaccination Certificate (PDF)<\/a> must come from veterinarian and include: Date of most recent vaccination must be at least fourteen days prior to Fair, dog\u2019s name or ID and age, brand or type of vaccine, veterinarians\u2019 signature and license (no stamped signature).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">County Fair Participation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Enter animals using a Clallam County Fair Exhibitor\u2019s Guide and Entry Form turned into the Barn Superintendent on or before July 1<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Members may bring two dogs if member has been training both dogs. The only class that both dogs may enter is Obedience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4-H members must participate in Fitting and Showing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dogs must be at least 6 months of age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No Dogs in Season.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leaders and\/or superintendents have the right to send dog home if dog\u2019s behavior is unacceptable (aggressive barking, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Vet\u2019s word is final. Always treat the vet with respect.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Customary Showing Attire<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Suits, dresses, skirts, sports jacket, dress pants or casual slacks; dress shirt (sports or polo shirts, sweaters, or vests are recommended). Wear clothing that is neat, clean and professional. Dog show-people typically wear clothing that is in contrasting color to their dog. Dress shoes are preferred but tennis shoes will be allowed. No open toed shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Awards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>See Clallam County 4-H Awards Handbook for award information and application instructions. Awards are given out at the Clallam County Celebrate 4-H Achievement Day in fall!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specific Project Area Awards for these projects: Dog Leaders\u2019 Incentive Award<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Judging Contest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors may participate in the Dog Judging contest. See Clallam County Fair Exhibitor Guide for information. Contact your 4-H leader for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Round Robin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Top Senior &amp; Intermediate 4H exhibitors in Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, Poultry, Cavies may participate. Rules are outlined in the Clallam County Fair Exhibitor\u2019s guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">State Fair<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/4h\/fairs\/state-4-h-fair\/\">4-H State Fair Exhibitor Guide<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qualifying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>4-H\u2019er must notify the County Fair Barn Superintendent of the animal project they wish to enter at State Fair by Sunday morning of the county fair.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4-H\u2019er must register in Fair Entry by the end of the Sunday of the county fair.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a part of the qualifying allotment. See State 4-H Fair Exhibitor\u2019s guide, and or ask barn Superintendent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At State Fair:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Each Species of animal benches together as a county.
