No Bucks over 3 months of age. Animals will be vet-checked prior to enter in fair and must be free of parasites and diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>All Sheep must have Scrapie Tag.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/agr.wa.gov\/\">Visit the WA State Department of Agriculture for more information.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>County Fair Participation Enter animals using a Clallam County Fair 4-H Entry Form(s) postmarked by July 1st.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All 4-H Members must participate in Fitting and Showing and herdsmanship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All animals must be able to be handled safely by the 4-H member. Animals demonstrating unsafe behavior must be removed from 4-H events and or fair.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Customary Showing Attire<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Meat Goat\/Pygmy Goat\/Utility Goat: Collared shirt, Jeans, Leather Boots (slip on or lace up), Belt. Dairy Goat: White collared shirt, buttoned at the neck (tie or pin optional). White pants, Belt \u2013 black, white, or brown. No open toed shoes or shorts will be allowed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pacific Northwest Junior Livestock Auction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>4-H Members in the Meat Goat Project may participate in the livestock auction.<br>The PNWJLA is the only auction recognized by Clallam County 4-H, therefore it is the only auction that can be listed as a 4-H event in your record book.<br>Members and project animals must meet qualifications outlined in the Pacific Northwest Junior Livestock Auction Rules including attendance of the Mandatory Parent meeting in Feb.\/March. Contact the PNWJLA for specific information about raising market goats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Awards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>See Clallam County 4-H Awards Handbook for award information and application instructions. Awards are given out at the Clallam County Celebrate 4-H Achievement Day in fall!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specific Project Area Awards for these projects: Large Animal Achievement Award<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Livestock Judging Contest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Traditionally held at 4:00pm on the Wednesday of Fair. Juniors and up may participate. Learn more about Judging contests on the WSU 4-H website or contact your 4-H leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quality Assurance Skill-a-thon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Traditionally held on Saturday morning of fair. Juniors and up may participate. Questions are based on Swine, Dairy, Beef, and Sheep. Quality Assurance Kits available for clubs to check out from the Extension office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Round Robin Contest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Top Senior &amp; Intermediate 4-H exhibitors in Beef, Sheep, Swine, Dairy, Goats &amp; Llamas compete against each other for the title of overall best showman. Rules are outlined in the Clallam County Fair Exhibitor Guide. Show is traditionally held at noon on the Sunday of fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">State Fair<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/4h\/fairs\/state-4-h-fair\/\">4-H State Fair Exhibitor Guide<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>State Fair Requirements: 4-H\u2019er must notify the County Fair Barn Superintendent of the animal project they wish to enter at State Fair by Sunday morning of the county fair.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4-H\u2019er must register in Fair Entry by the end of the Sunday of the county fair.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a part of the qualifying allotment. See State 4-H fair Exhibitor\u2019s guide, and or ask barn Superintendent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At State Fair: Each Species of animal stalls as a county. All clubs in our county are stalled together and must share the responsibility of stall decorations.
