Together, we can help youth develop the confidence, connections, compassion and leadership skills they need to thrive. We welcome participants of all experience levels and backgrounds who are passionate about partnering with youth to help them reach their full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types of volunteers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Club Leader\n<ul>\n<li>This is the club\u2019s general leader responsible for the overall management of a 4-H club.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Club Assistant\n<ul>\n<li>Assists club lead as needed in management\/special tasks. E.g. Co leader.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project Leader\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for the leadership of one or more projects within a 4-H club.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose this option if you actively lead\/help in the preparation and delivery of a project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project Assistant\n<ul>\n<li>Assists with project activities at the club, county, etc., level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose this if you are a parent volunteer who steps up when needed but doesn\u2019t take a consistent active lead on a project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resource Leader\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for tasks assigned. These may be event-based, episodic, administrative, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This is not necessarily club based. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do you become a Volunteer?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At 4-H we take safety seriously, so our volunteer applicants must complete several steps before a decision will be made whether or not to accept a new volunteer applicant. To become a certified volunteer, you need to complete the five steps below. Only volunteers with an <strong>active<\/strong> enrollment in 4-H Online are certified volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Some project areas including food preservation and shooting sports require additional certifications. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete the 4-H Volunteer Application:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/wsu.co1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_230cRjPMqv9jC86\">volunteer application online<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you prefer a PDF version please download this <a href=\"https:\/\/wpcdn.web.wsu.edu\/extension\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2025\/05\/New-Volunteer-Applicationfillable.pdf\">fillable PDF<\/a>. Enrollment key is CLALLAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will learn:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Volunteer Roles &amp; Relationships<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Positive Youth Development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Youth\/Adult Partnerships<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safe &amp; Inclusive Environments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn by Doing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/campus.extension.org\/course\/view.php?id=2576\">WSU EP 14 Protection and Safety of Minors<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Enrollment Key is EP14CL4H<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/campus.extension.org\/course\/view.php?id=1757\">Put the Child First Training Presentation.<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The enrollment key is \u201cCLALLAM4H\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Attend an&nbsp;<strong>in-person training<\/strong>&nbsp;session for new volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have a&nbsp; new volunteer training session coming up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday, October 8th at 6pm at the Extension Office, 1914 W. 18th St, Port Angeles. S<a href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/Clallam4-H\">ign up<\/a> and let us know you are coming.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A criminal background check request will be emailed to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 5<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Enroll<\/strong>&nbsp;on 4-H online<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All adult volunteers must enroll on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/v2.4honline.com\/#\/user\/sign-in\">4-H Online<\/a>&nbsp;<strong>every year<\/strong>.
