It will be led by veteran Master Gardeners Jeanette Stehr-Green and Audreen Williams.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.signupgenius.com\/go\/berryseries#\/\">Space is limited and registration is required. Please use this link to join the class.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A demonstration titled \u201cSelection, Planting, and Spacing of Different Berry Types\u201d<\/p>\n<p>will be held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026<\/p>\n<p>from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm<\/p>\n<p>at the Lazy J Tree Farm<\/p>\n<p>225 Gehrke Road, Port Angeles<\/p>\n<p>Participants will learn how to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select berry varieties suited to the North Olympic Peninsula and the microclimate<\/li>\n<li>Transplant the berry plants at the proper depth and spacing<\/li>\n<li>Identify (and prepare) a planting site conducive to good growth<\/li>\n<li>Care for the plants to keep them healthy and ensure a good harvest<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is the full schedule for the series:<\/p>\n<p><strong>February 28<\/strong>: Pruning Dormant Berries (Demonstration)<br \/>\n<strong>March 28:<\/strong>\u00a0Growing Blueberries in the Home Garden (Class)<br \/>\n<strong>April 25:<\/strong>\u00a0Selection, Planting, and Spacing of Different Berry Types (Demonstration)<br \/>\n<strong>May 30:<\/strong>\u00a0Growing Strawberries in the Home Garden (Class)<br \/>\n<strong>July 25:<\/strong>\u00a0Midsummer Pruning and Trellising of Berries (Demonstration)<br \/>\n<strong>August 29:<\/strong>\u00a0Growing Raspberries in the Home Garden (Class)<br \/>\n<strong>September 26:<\/strong>\u00a0Growing Blackberries in the Home Garden (Class)<br \/>\n<strong>October 24:<\/strong>\u00a0Fall and Winter Berry Care (Class)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Join the Master Gardeners for the Homegrown Berries Series of 2026.
