You can grow tomatoes successfully in the Pacific Northwest.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"7mqvd\" data-offset-key=\"folgo-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"folgo-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"folgo-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"7mqvd\" data-offset-key=\"adphc-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"adphc-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"adphc-0-0\">On Saturday, June 15, from 10-11 am, Clallam County Master Gardeners Audreen Williams, Laurel Moulton, Jan Bartron, and Jeanette Stehr-Green will share tips on growing tomatoes in our short growing season. The presentation is part of the \u201cSaturdays in the Garden\u201d educational series and will be held at the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden in Sequim.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"7mqvd\" data-offset-key=\"fskgf-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"fskgf-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"fskgf-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"7mqvd\" data-offset-key=\"1t7i4-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"1t7i4-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1t7i4-0-0\">During the presentation, participants will learn what varieties grow best in our area, how to plant tomatoes to optimize available heat and how to protect them from the cold. Participants will also learn how to care for tomato plants through the growing season to prevent diseases and encourage fruit production. The training will include demonstrations on planting and pruning tomato bushes and displays on season extenders, trellises and common tomato problems.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"7mqvd\" data-offset-key=\"6nk87-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"6nk87-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"6nk87-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"7mqvd\" data-offset-key=\"dhip7-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"dhip7-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"dhip7-0-0\">By attending this presentation, local gardeners will learn the tricks necessary to produce vine-ripened tomatoes in their own backyard, something money can\u2019t buy.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"7mqvd\" data-offset-key=\"9qda2-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"9qda2-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9qda2-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"7mqvd\" data-offset-key=\"873pt-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"873pt-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"873pt-0-0\">The Master Gardener Demonstration Garden is located at 2711 Woodcock Road in Sequim, WA. The garden demonstrates a broad range of ornamental and edible plants, water-wise gardening, fire safe landscaping, composting and garden design. The Demonstration Garden has a covered outdoor pavilion where educational programs are held from May through October.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"7mqvd\" data-offset-key=\"c1u5t-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"c1u5t-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"c1u5t-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"7mqvd\" data-offset-key=\"e1af4-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"e1af4-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"e1af4-0-0\">\u201cSaturdays in the Garden\u201d presentations are free and open to the public and occur rain or shine.
