DESCRIPTION:Most garden glass art is beautiful but expensive. Would you like to learn to make fabulous glass accents for your garden? Come and learn about some simple techniques\, cool ideas and basic\, inexpensive materials to create lovely garden enhancements. You can make gazing balls\, magical windows\, and many other glass art delights for your unique garden! Saturday\, Sept. 17 from 10am to noon. \nBring a lawn chair and your work clothes. Participants are asked to provide 45 minutes of service in the East Vancouver demonstration garden following the one-hour workshop. Bring gloves and water and dress for the weather. This event is put on in conjunction with Clark County Public Health – Solid Waste Outreach\, Green Neighbors Program. DESCRIPTION: Tour Local Farms at the 23rd Annual Harvest Celebration  \nSaturday\, September 17\, 2022\n10:00am – 3:00pm \nFREE in-person Event \nMore info:http://go.wsu.edu/smallacreage \nClark County\, WA –– Eight farms will be open to the public on Saturday\, September 17th to show the bounty of local agriculture and give Clark County residents an opportunity to tour and meet their area farmers.  With nearly two thousand farms throughout Clark County providing fresh produce and meats\, this is a great opportunity to introduce the family to the farmers who make our local agriculture strong. \nTwo farms that are new to the Harvest Celebration will be part of the tour this year\, including Good Year Farms and Flat Tack Farm. The other farms that are part of this celebration are Get To Gather Farm\, 78th Street Heritage Farm\, Serendipity Alpaca Ranch\, Gather and Feast Farm\, Coyote Ridge Ranch\, and Gifts of the Planet Farm. \nFarms will offer a variety of fun-filled events such as animal viewing\, self-guided tours\, catered lunch (must pre-order and pay for from Gather and Feast Farm)\, U-pick vegetables and flowers\, craft-making\, veggie and salsa tasting\, and photo ops with alpacas.  Participants will be able to meet their local farmers; purchase fresh produce\, U-pick\, cut flowers\, and other farm products; see alpacas\, chickens\, Scottish Highland Cows\, chickens and other livestock; and tour vegetable fields and flower gardens. \nThis year’s Harvest Celebration will also feature four local farms that have been recognized by WSU Clark County Extension for showing a commitment to stewardship.  Get to Gather Farm\, Serendipity Alpaca Ranch\, Gather and Feast Farm\, and Gifts of the Planet Farm have been awarded a Doing Our Part for Clean Water sign\, for implementing practices that protect clean water and natural resources. \nTerry Koper\, Small Acreage Program Coordinator\, says\, “These farms demonstrate stewardship in Clark County and they’re an excellent place to learn about sustainable farming practices. This celebration offers residents a great opportunity to meet local farmers and show support for Clark County agriculture.” \nLet’s all stay safe! Socially distance. Wear masks indoors.
