Join the WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardener Program for a guided tour of the 79-acre 78th Street Heritage Farm in Vancouver\, Washington. October 22 from 10 to 11:30am. Stroll the property with a knowledgeable docent and learn about the property’s storied history and its current role in horticulture education\, agricultural research\, food security and community enrichment. Placed on the Washington Historic Register in 2012\, the 78th Street Farm has a unique and compelling story for people of all ages. Tours involve prolonged standing and walking on uneven ground with some elevation change. Bring water and dress for the weather. Advanced registration is required. Tour size is limited. DESCRIPTION:Small Acreage Stewardship Tours: \nThe Small Acreage Program of WSU Clark County Extension hosts a small acreage stewardship tour. This is a in-person tour of two residences. The first begins at 10am at a residence in Battle Ground\, WA. Learn about composting manure\, stormwater drainage\, and learn about wildlife habitat along the Salmon Creek from wildlife specialist Ashley Smithers of Clark Conservation District. \nEnjoy lunch under a beautiful covered-bridge over Salmon Creek. \nThen join us for the second tour in NE Vancouver\, WA at 1pm of a horse\, goat\, and sheep small acreage with a pond.
