You might have been sent to &#8220;the poor farm.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>That historic &#8220;poor farm&#8221; in Clark County is now the 78th Street Heritage Farm. It is home to demonstration gardens of the Master Gardeners program, with a history going back to 1865.\u00a0Placed on the Washington Historic Register in 2012, the 79-acre property has a unique and compelling story for people of all ages.<\/p>\n<p>Join a WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardener for a guided tour of the 78th Street Heritage Farm. Stroll the property with a knowledgeable docent and learn about the property&#8217;s storied history and its current role in horticulture education, agricultural research, food security and community enrichment.<\/p>\n<p>Tours involve prolonged standing and walking on uneven ground with some elevation change. Bring water, dress for the weather. Advanced registration is required. Tour size is limited.
