SUMMARY:Beginning Youth Floral Design
DESCRIPTION:On July 22 at 6:00 pm\, Cowlitz County Master Gardener Marge Lippincott will discuss the basics of flower arrangement.  Students will learn how to combine form\, color\, style and balance into a beautiful display.  Following the presentation\, youth will design their own display and then can enter them at the Cowlitz County Fair.  You must pre-register and pay by July 17.  Class size is limited to 12 youth ages 6-12. The cost of the class is $5.00 per student.  We accept cash or check. Please make checks payable to the Master Gardener Foundation. SUMMARY:Bee Keeper Workshops
DESCRIPTION:This is a four session work shop held on October 7\, 14\, 21 and 28 from 6- 9 PM on each day of the Workshop. \nDesigned to build basic beekeeping skills\, the class covers topics including bee biology\, equipment\, seasonal management requirements\, identification and management of pests\, as well as honey removal and processing. SUMMARY:Evaluating Mason Bee Cocoons
DESCRIPTION:Join us on October 12 at 10:00 am when Billie Bevers\, Washington State University Master Gardener will present a workshop on how to evaluate mason bees cocoons for disease. During the spring and summer other bees\, diseases and parasites can invade mason bee nests.  This two hour session is a “hands on” active and fun class to help you identify what’s in your mason bee tubes and blocks. There will be cocoons you can evaluate if you don’t have your own. Information on overwintering your bees and creating containers for their long sleep will be presented.  Bring your questions and a paper bag to carry home your cocoons. SUMMARY:Kid's Fall Discovery Workshop
DESCRIPTION:On October 26 at 11 am\, Cowlitz County Master Gardener Jane Yahrmarkt will lead a hands-on workshop making fall planters with mums and pansies to take home and enjoy all season long. In addition\, Master Gardener Lori Martinson will guide attendees through some great learning activities–making pine cone bird feeders\,  “Guess that Bug” game\, and hands-on discovery and viewing of microscopic compost critters.    Class size is limited to 20 youth ages 6-12.  The cost of the class is $5.00 per student.   You must pre-register and pay by 10/11/2019.  Scholarships are available.
