Join us on October 14 at 10:00 am when Billie Bevers, Washington State University Master Gardener will present a workshop on how to evaluate mason bees cocoons for disease. During the spring and summer other bees, diseases and parasites can invade mason bee nests.\u00a0 This two hour session is a \u201chands on\u201d active and fun class to help you identify what\u2019s in your mason bee tubes and blocks. There will be cocoons you can evaluate if you don\u2019t have your own. Information on overwintering your bees and creating containers for their long sleep will be presented. \u00a0Participants will need to bring a box cutter to cut open their straws and <\/strong>a paper bag to carry home your cocoons.<\/strong> The program sponsored by Washington State University Extension will be held at the Cowlitz County Training Center, 1942 First Avenue<\/a> in Longview.\u00a0 Class registration is $10.00 (collected at class), limited to 30 people and is due by October 9.\u00a0 For more information, contact Lisa Huckleberry at 577-3014 Ext 0 or huckleberryl@co.cowlitz.wa.us<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
