{"id":638,"date":"2022-06-14T10:12:45","date_gmt":"2022-06-14T17:12:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/efnep\/?p=638"},"modified":"2024-06-07T14:06:03","modified_gmt":"2024-06-07T21:06:03","slug":"fruit-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/efnep\/2022\/06\/14\/fruit-salad\/","title":{"rendered":"Fruit Salad"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpcdn.web.wsu.edu\/wp-extension\/uploads\/sites\/3037\/2024\/06\/L4-Fruit-Salad.pdf\">Fruit Salad (pdf)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Makes: 6 servings (\u00bd cup per serving)<br>Preparation Time: 10 minutes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>1 (8 ounce) can fruit cocktail packed in juice, drained<\/li><li>1 (8 ounce) can pineapple tidbits packed in juice, drained<\/li><li>1 apple, chopped 1 banana, sliced<\/li><li>\u00bd cup (4 ounces) vanilla yogurt Pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Wash hands with soap and water.<\/li><li>Wash the apple under cold running water.<\/li><li>Collect, cut, and measure all ingredients before starting to prepare the recipe.<\/li><li>Drain the juice from the cans of fruit cocktail and pineapple into a medium bowl. Toss the chopped apple and sliced banana in the fruit juice to prevent browning, then remove from the juice.*<\/li><li>In a larger bowl, mix fruit cocktail, pineapple, apple, and banana.<\/li><li>In a small bowl, mix the yogurt and cinnamon or nutmeg.<\/li><li>Serve fruit salad in small bowls or cups. Top each serving with a spoonful of the yogurt mixture.<\/li><li>Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
