SUMMARY:2026 Washington Swine Information Day
DESCRIPTION:Washington Swine Information Day offers targeted presentations designed to address the diverse needs of Pacific Northwest swine producers. \nThe morning session includes certification training for the National Pork Board’s Pork Quality Assurance Plus (PQA+) for adults and Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) for youth. These certifications are increasingly required by pork packers and fairs. Katlyn Cain will then highlight the critical role of people and pigs in the future of the U.S. swine industry. Dr. Paul Kuber\, WSU Regional Extension Specialist\, will present on identifying market-ready pigs for various industry segments. The day concludes with Dr. Zach Turner and Mr. David Hecimovich sharing WSDA updates on swine health and animal traceability to meet state and federal requirements. \nSee the brochure for more information.
