Preparing the Vegetable Garden
March 19, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The WSU Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties are presenting a free gardening workshop with hands-on activities. In this workshop we will touch on how to identify a good site for a new vegetable garden. From there we will cover the kinds of crop families that do best in our climate, briefly discussing key needs by family. Growing plants from the family together helps to make crop rotation easier to manage. Other cropping techniques including succession planting, which crops grow well together, fall and winter crops, and the use of cover crops will also be covered.
This workshop will be held on Sunday, March 19th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM in the Borden Seabert Exhibition Building (also known as The Dog Barn) at the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds in Elma.
