Wild Fires<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Northwest Interagency Coordination Center<\/a>\u00a0serves as the northwest area geographic focal point to provide logistical support and intelligence relative to anticipated and ongoing wildfire activity for all federal and cooperating state wildland fire suppression agencies. The Center facilitates movement of resources between agencies’ units and, concurrently, ensures fire suppression capabilities to support large fire potential by monitoring weather and prescribed burning activity within the area. The Center also responds to requests for support to other geographic areas from the National Interagency Coordination Center at the National Interagency Fire Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network<\/a>\u00a0The Washington Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network (WAFAC),\u00a0 funded by the Bureau of Land Management,\u00a0 facilitates learning and provides a means to invest resources in communities around Washington that are working to better live with wildfire. The Network provides member communities with resources to engage with other WAFAC participants, thereby increasing local capacity, and elevating our collective ability to adapt communities\u2019 relationships to the complex fire issues we face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
