Grays Harbor 4-H Council Minutes<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Grays Harbor County 4-H Council invites you to join us for our monthly 4-H Council meeting, generally held at 6:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month. Join the monthly 4-H Council meeting via Zoom<\/a> or at the WSU Extension office in Elma for in person participation.  All 4-H community members are encouraged to attend and hear updates, ask questions and provide public comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 21, 2026 Minutes:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Call the meeting to order & Attendance – 6:39pm<\/li>\n\n\n\n

  5. Approval of previous meeting minutes \u2013 Motion to approve April meeting minutes was brought by Dani E. and seconded by Abby S.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Financial Report \u2013 Farralee – Finance report was given from the bank statement of April 1 – 30, 2026.  Checking account balance is $11,121.80 with $613.00 designated as Biosecurity, $3,3730 for Leadership, $332.64 for Club Start-up and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. $6,446.16 as general 4-H.  Savings account balance is $4,980.48.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Super Saturday expenses and follow-up – Reimbursement to Cindy K. in the amount of $17.14  for water and snacks at Super Saturday was brought before the council.  Cathy C. motioned to reimburse Cindy with a second from Leann S.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Communications –\n

    1. Grocery Outlet outreach and updates RE Mother\u2019s Day Fundraiser Event – The event was a huge success, selling out of roses on Friday and only a handful of bouquets were left by Mother\u2019s Day.  Total sales reached $6,635.00 with 10% or $663.50 being donated to GH 4-H.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Reports of Project Groups\n
        \n
      1. Horse Council \u2013  Upcoming events include assorted clinics andHairy Horse shows with Pre-Fair the end of June.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Camp \u2013 The final counselor training is set for June 13th.  Registration is still open for Juniors and Intermediate.  Camp theme is Prehistoric Panhandle and is taking place July 11 – 16.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n

        1. Recognition & Awards –\n

          1. Year Pins & Awards – Pin inventory is complete, but we will wait until after the fair to place an order.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. Record Books –  This year we will have two options for submission:  4-H Horse program and\/or* Other 4-H programs.  Thank you to the GH Mounted Posse for offering monetary prizes!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. Supplies & Logistics –<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          4. Dessert Auction & Spaghetti Feed –<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          5. 4-H Fair \u2013\n

            1. 4-H Fair Cmte meeting Recap –  Wrapping up the Exhibitor Guide and Fair Supplement with an anticipated release date of June 1st.  Wednesday, July 22nd: 3:30 Still Life building cleaning and set up, 5:00 Still Life Volunteer\/Judges orientation and a Volunteer \u2018Check-In\u2019 meeting (TBD).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Plans for 4-H Fair Sup\u2019t Summer Mtng – Scheduled for 5:30pm Thursday, June 18.  Mary will build a Kahoot as the fun activity!  Farralee will coordinate food\/snacks.  The Council meeting follows at 6:30pm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. Would it be possible to record the Superintendent  Summer meeting in case some are not able to attend? <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            4. Council Reps Report\n
                \n
              1. Panhandle \u2013 Fishing Derby this weekend.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              2. G.H. Youth Livestock Auction \u2013 May 6th mandatory meeting and May 9th tagging day.  No committee meetings have been scheduled as of yet.  Can the rules be posted on the 4-H page?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              3. 4-H Youth Development Report\n
                  \n
                1. Tracie Hanson, 4-H Program Coordinator \u2013  Thank you volunteers for all you do!!  There has been a record book check-in with 3 families and 6 youth.  Don\u2019t forget you must do a record book if you are participating in the Youth Livestock Auction.  Tracie will out of the office June 19th, returning on July 6th.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                2. Dan Teuteberg, 4-H Youth Development Regional Specialist – Dan will be having surgery at the end of June and will be out through fair.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
