Requirements include preventative controls, mandatory inspections and development of a<br \/>\nresponse plan to contain outbreaks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does it mean to me?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All food growers, producers and processors regardless of size must<br \/>\ncomply with a set of rules established under FSMA, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preventative Controls for Human Food: Requires written plans that identify hazards, specify<br \/>\nthe steps that will be put in place to minimize or prevent those hazards, identify monitoring<br \/>\nprocedures and record monitoring results and specify what actions will be taken to correct<br \/>\nproblems that arise (similar controls are required for animal food).<\/li>\n<li>PCQI Requirement: There must be a Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) trained<br \/>\nby certified trainers.<\/li>\n<li>Produce Safety Regulation: Establishes on-farm standards of conduct for the safe growing,<br \/>\nharvesting, packing and holding of fresh produce.<\/li>\n<li>Employee Food Safety Training: Establishes requirement that all employees receive annual<br \/>\nfood safety training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When do I need to comply?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Generally, the compliance date for \u201csmall\u201d businesses (&lt;500 employees) is September 17, 2017.<br \/>\nFor \u201cvery small\u201d businesses (&lt;$1 million revenue) the compliance date is September 17, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can I achieve compliance?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This info session will describe FSMA and its associated rules in more detail, and discuss compliance strategies and options.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who Should Attend?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any company or individual who grows, produces or processes food for human or animal consumption!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Register (no cost):<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/impactwashington.org\/events\/fsma-info-session-compliance-resources-rochester-wa\/\">https:\/\/impactwashington.org\/events\/fsma-info-session-compliance-resources-rochester-wa\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>About Impact Washington: Impact Washington is a non-profit organization whose mission is<br \/>\nto strengthen manufacturers in Washington to help drive the economic engine of the state.
