Resources and Recording of July Whidbey Island Growers Association Presentation on Ag Resiliency and Climate Change

We had a great discussion at the July meeting of the Whidbey Island Growers Association. The topic was Agricultural Resiliency and Climate Change and featured three excellent speakers:

Bennett LaFond, Snohomish Conservation District
Eli Wheat, SkyRoot Farm, Organic Farm School, and faculty in the Program on the Environment at the University of Washington
Jake Stewart, Sweetwater Farm

Bennett shared the Snohomish Conservation District’s Ag Resiliency Plan and Climate Impacts Assessment Tools and discussed the community process that created the plan. Then we heard from local farmers Eli Wheat and Jake Stewart with thoughts and discussion on agricultural resiliency for Whidbey farms.
