Master Gardener Training Begins April 7

Are you interested in becoming an WSU Extension Island County Master Gardener? Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who are passionate about learning to manage and care for their gardens in a science-based and sustainable manner, and sharing that knowledge with others in their community. Master Gardeners host plant clinics, maintain public educational gardens, conduct classes and workshops, and participate in continuing educational opportunities.

Training starts Saturday, April 7 from 9:00-12:30 and continues for 11 weeks. Training includes, in-class lectures, online study, field trips and mentorship by experienced Master Gardeners.

You do not need to be an “expert” gardener! What is most important is your willingness to learn and share your knowledge with others in the community through volunteering a modest amount of time.

To learn more about the program and training, click here. If you are interested in participating in the Master Gardeners program, please download and return the application by March 17, 2018. Please contact Loren Imes by email or call 360-678-2343 with any questions.
