The 4-H year runs October 1 to September 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are four age groups in 4-H:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Cloverbud: ages 5-7<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Junior: ages 8-10<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intermediate: ages 11-13<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Senior: ages 14 to 19<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Youth must be at least 8 years of age on October 1 to participate hands-on with large animals (horses, cows, sheep, pigs) and in shooting sports.<\/p>\n\n    <\/section>\n\n<div class=\"wsu-row wsu-row--halves\" >\r\n    \n<div class=\"wsu-column\"  style=\"\">\r\n\t\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Join 4-H<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 4-H, youth choose one or more areas of interest to explore. 4-H calls these areas of interest \u201cprojects\u201d. Youth also choose a 4-H club in which to explore their project. Follow these steps to get involved in a 4-H Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Choose a Project\n<ul>\n<li>What are you interested in? 4-H offers many opportunities to learn more!
