Diggin’ for Dinner ~ Dosewallips

July 27, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Digging for Dinner Coming This June & July
Join the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee and WA Department of Fish and Wildlife on Sat. June 30 at the Quilcene Bay WDFW Tidelands to learn about harvesting steamer clams. Bring the family and learn about different types of clams, where to find them, how to harvest safely and sustainably, and the basic rules and regulations that assure delicious clams this summer and into the future. Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee (MRC) organizes these family-friendly programs about harvesting clams and oysters on local beaches with support from the Puget Sound Partnership and EPA.
For more information and to register, go to http://jeffersonmrc.org . A $10 donation per family helps support future marine education programs. A second Digging for Dinner program will be offered at Dosewallips State Park on July 27th, with a focus on both oyster and clam harvesting.
Once you register, you will be sent directions and information about what to bring. Participants will need a WDFW shellfish license, which can be purchased on-line at http://wdfw.wa.gov/licensing/ or from a local retail outlet.
Register early. Space is limited for this popular event.
