Weather Stations Webinar: A Tool for Farmers

WSU Extension Regional Small Farms Program presents a free webinar for farmers on the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas. This introductory webinar will showcase WSU AgWeatherNet, a free online tool that provides access to current and historical weather data to help Washington growers and citizens understand and prepare for the challenges and changes that weather brings. 

Topics include: 

  • Locating the nearest weather station near you 
  • Why is this tool important for farmers? 
  • Horticultural Uses: growing degree days, humidity, rainfall, tracking life cycles of pathogens and pests 
  • Olympic Peninsula weather patterns 
  • Tracking drought 
  • Hydrologic cycle, stream dynamics, and rainfall
